Well-known Dutch-Americans

This directory of biographies of well-known, accomplished Dutch-Americans, who have contributed to American society, culture, and economy, has been created by Professor Carl Pegels. Please refer questions, comments, and additional information to him.

Professor Pegels was born in  a suburb of Rotterdam and emigrated to Canada at age 16 with his family. He received his advanced education in the US, receiving a Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1966. He has always been interested in history but did not pursue it academically because he saw a better economic future in management. Now retired, he is pursuing other interests of which Dutch American history is one.

Notes:

Many of the references are to web sites. Web sites tend to be empheral. If you find a broken link, please report it to the webmaster. The New Netherland Institute has made these links available to users as a courtesy, but has no control over the content.
